Can architecture save us from the zombie apocalypse? This competition called for a speculative solution to the existential challenge posed by undead brain eaters. The proposal is a compact, mobile, tree-house-like bunker, to be rapidly deployed by air when the crisis hits. Like weighted darts, shelters pluck themselves into the ground, with the main piston penetrating the surface and the five legs offering stabilisation. The chasis is based on an Archimedian solid called Truncated Icosi Dodecahedron, which offers a good aproximation of a sphere.
Honorable mention / Open International competition
