Proposal for a 220.000 square meter mix-use development in Liuxiandong district, Shenzhen, China. The brief called for the development of several city blocks under a common height regulation, which allowed for incresed heights toward the north-east part of the site. We decided against self-standing towers and instead conceived of a continuous megablock composed of a 'mountain range' on a three-storey plinth. The plinth as well as the southern slopes of the'mountains' are heavily planted and mostly residential in use, while the long east-west facing facades offer office space.
